About

My name is Alessandro Rossini, but maybe some of you still knows me as Aronnax. I was born in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, on 22 December 1980.
I grew up in Tortoreto Lido, a little touristic village on the Adriatic sea, but I had my education in L’Aquila, a nice town in the middle of Italy surrounded by the Appennino’s mountains. Here I got my Bachelor and Master degree in Computer Science and a Postgraduate diploma in Web Technology. Thanks to the Erasmus/Socrates programme I also spent one year in Bergen, probably the most beautiful city of Norway.
I am a computer scientist with all the pro and contras…
Information Technology was my first passion. I strongly believe in the free software philosophy and I contribute to several free/open source projects.
I have also interests in linguistics and my hobbies are photography, readings, motors, cuisine, and travels. I really like to meet new people from worldwide and learn from different cultures, traditions and languages.
Currently and for the next four years I will be a PhD student at the Department of Informatics of the University of Bergen, Norway. My research fields are Model-Driven Engineering and Version Control Systems.
